Jeff started it. He didn’t know what Bayesian inference was, but he was interested in learning. Naturally he shared his excitement with his little brother, Marc, who (as usual) followed in his footsteps. Now they share that interest working together at the intersection of marketing and data science and, occasionally, writing on this blog.
Jeff Dotson
Jeff is an associate professor of marketing at the Max M. Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. Prior to joining the faculty at Ohio State, he worked as a marketing professor at both the BYU Marriott School of Business and at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He holds a PhD in Marketing from The Ohio State University and masters degrees in business administration (MBA) and statistics (MS) from the University of Utah. His interests include the development and application of Bayesian methods and the use of generative AI in marketing practice.
Marc Dotson
Marc is an assistant professor of data analytics at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Prior to joining the faculty at Utah State, he worked as an assistant professor of marketing at the BYU Marriott School of Business. He graduated with an MSc from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a PhD from The Ohio State University. His interests include causal inference, Bayesian statistics, and machine learning.
